My inner pedant winces at "ammeter" - that measure current, not power - power would be a "wattmeter" perhaps?

Was that a stutter over ammeter did you mean to say meter.

andyc, many thanx for your reply ammeter was too many letters but the word metre fits it! rackets is right, thanx again, when u get to the end and have only a couple left its frustrating ANN

It would be METER, annilee - METRE would be the length
