can see EVENS in the midst of Stevenson

and 3 `S`s in Cassis which is a drink but thats as near as I can get

CASSIS = CA (circa = about) + SSS (= south x 3) with I inside them.

Yet again many thanks Mamya,you come across as whiz at cryptics.! Think I've got the Stevenson now. Central characters in question are s and t, all the same is even so plus n (name).
Seems easy now!
