Glad someone else as daft as me!! Fairly straightforward today but puzzled by the only obvious answer to 1d. What's it got to do with 3 - number 3 or answer to 3? Anyone got an explanation??

Bark as in cover of tree and also is a noise.
That is the best explanation I can come up with

Finished today but not too sure why 13a) is order - a religious group ok. But why? The clue is "American helping religious group."

Order might then make 10d) = dote. That clue is "love to be inside? I'm out.

I enjoy the Wee Stinker but don't always really understand the answer. What a terrible admission!!!!!!

Do Americans use "order" to refer to what's on their plate in a restaurant?

Good afternoon,Kendo,
Don't expect any sympathy - possibly a bit of jealousy, though!
1ac. "chaff" as in "teasing" - French word
synonym for "sick" (3) + fopr "well on" as in elderly (2,3)
14d. synonyny for "C-in-C" (1.1.1) + abbreviation for "identity" (2) + anagram of "ten".
(More simply, opposite of Orient!)
Hoping this helps!
