And Spencer.

I think I've worked out what the 16-word answer is (and the 3,7 you need), and some of the standard clues are easy. I suppose, to get the 16-word answer to fit, you've got to apply the misprints.

How well I thought I was doing!

Unfortunately, even allowing for will or "'ll" the 16-word answer is one letter short!

hi pendragon,
4x13 + 5 = 57. but one of the 5 is also in one of the 13s ie only 4. total is 56. fairly straghtforward solving after getting quote.

Finished, but I'm still puzzled by:

18D parsing - just the first letter of the answer. Is this clue one of the misprints, as I have 2 unidentified (though I know what I expect those 2 letters to be)?

Maybe later on we could have a list of the clues with misprints, but I don't want to spoil it for anyone.

I see what you mean livs, I was just taking the first letter of the word as it stood, but accepting a misprint is better. Which means my swapped letter in 7d or 15d is wrong. Hey ho, it works.

18D (just about) works as it stands for me.

I have two/three left, but, even though I had the 16-word answer right at the beginning, I still cannot fit it into three of the answers (is one backwards?). And I still have three or five misprints to find.

Perplexing!

Aaaah... the plot thickens.

See, I don't have a misprint in 7D or 15D - I can parse the clue as it is. The misprint is surely in the clue, not the answer? e.g. 11A, swop 'c' for 'p'.
