Got a bit of a mental block about a couple of 4 letter ones embarassingly!
1 Down - "Money's not right for singer" - I have BASS (as in singer) but it could be BASE (base money).
6 Across - "Man hugging wife was dizzy" - I have SWAM but doesn't seem to make sense.
Any help would be appreciated.

SWAM would appear to be right. SAM and W for wife.
