I've got most of the grid filled in, but I'm having trouble with the 'Father's parting utterance' It starts with a name, and the outer perimeter letters (the first three) allude to a date.
The 'name' wasn't around at the date mentioned!
Can anyone give me a hint or two please!

Yes, the person WAS around - check the first word in the perimeter.

P.S. Any idea how to get rid of the annoying 'pop-ups' (think that's what they are called) that keep appearing?
