Thought 42 could have been father figures but not enough letters in second word so ignore me.

I am glad i looked at this as learn more on how to solve some clues so guess that a good thing.

Smudgy, i'm assuming that this is a quiz because some could be deemed a bit unfair as cryptic crossword clues.


42. still posing as dads at museum in disguise (6,8)
The words 'still posing' are dead wood.

46. choose to dawdle but do not dally at the big top! (10.5)
there is nothing to indicate that Picc sounds like Pick, a synonym for choose,although the quizzes themselves might explain some of this at the start.

Thanks trevor for taking time to explain things you gave me some advice on cryptics last month on.a candis mag i had that had never been able to do , when i got it the other day i had a good go following your advice and i was chuffed with myself at the amount i managed to work out :-) so thankyou it nice to try something away from normal crosswords , i am no scholar or particulary brainy but like trying as due to bad health i have time to fill so like trying to learn new stuff.Your help has been much appreciated i even helped few people on here! .
