I don't understand the upset and worse for wear bit of the clue but remember that Graf is the German word for Count (nobleman) as in the ship Graf Spee.

Whiz means swish and someone with a remarkable talent, eg whiz kid. Of course whiz is same as whizz. Hope this helps, Double definition,
