Didn't get the following day's paper - just can't get a handle on this one.
19 Down: "Piece of furniture hoisted before entrance (7)". I have E_A_E_E and the corresponding Across answers all appear correct.
The frustration is unbearable!
Any help gratefully received.

I had wondered about "ere" for "before" but I'll have to invest in a larger dictionary - I'd started going through "eba" - "eca" - "eda" - etc. etc. but sadly my tattered old dictionary does not contain "etagere" and as I've never owned such a "piece of furniture" I was stumped!
