What a great puzzle! Some excellent clues. Finished, but have to dwell on 4d and 5d...

I've got 5d now, but 4d is driving me nuts. Are you out there, Syzzie?

@Aristophanes Glad you enjoyed it.

@GK No rush. Fairly easy, but interesting theme. Let me know if you have a question.
Hope you had a relaxing vacation on the old sod.

Well chaps, been rather busy but having a day off tomorrow so relaxing tonight and just had an hour on the Harpers and got 13 clues in up to now, don't get the theme yet or how exactly it works. Like you aristo, I have a word in my head for 4 down, but can't see the wordplay yet (I have the final letter from 13 across) I do have the answer to 5 down though. 2 & 7 down escape me too yet even though I have 5 & 6 letters in them respectfully.
I'll keep plodding on with it and see where I get with it before asking for help.

greedy kite, do you want me to send the email with it on to your adopted email address that I have from you last night?

Finished. soon started to drop like skittles when the link theme is found. Still struggled in the SE corner and took me a while to crack 11 down.
Not the word I thought for 4 down aristo, but a nice little clue in the end.

aristo, I should've known the last 4 letters in 42 across (re; 30a) because I used that for part of your name in 19 across in The March joint Effort.

Big thanks to Syzygy.

Yes, quite pleasant. No jacket required, wink, wink.

Won't post the solution just yet, to give GK a chance.

@GK Let us know when your PC gets sorted out.

Another from the archives in a couple of weeks.
