Still struggling with this week's puzzle.
19a. Mess with honour, so to speak (6)
1d. Cut libel words out, ultimately offensive (10)
Just cannot see these and still not sure why
2d. Beer cans split - remove bits = strip out
unless it is stout with rip inserted !!!

Your 2d sounds correct, the word 'can' is used as the Container indicator.
RIP is canned inside STOUT (beer)

Oh yes, that sounds right, I was thinking of the noun 'A mess' instead of 'To mess with' (verb). I'll have a think about the other one

Tinkertony,
Just toying with Scandalous, but not quite seeing the parse yet.
Libel words = Scandal + ou(t) cut ultimately
OR Scandals (plural[words]) with OU(t) cutting in Scandal(ou)s
Scandalous is synonymous of offensive.

I don't really like this and think it may be a long shot now I've wrote it, what do you think?

Why bowdlerise ? Cannot see where this comes from.
Can see words in this answer but do see where the other letters B, L,E, I,E come from ! Nearly the same as libel but an E instead of the L. Guess the ultimate letter of offensive might be the answer but why drop the L ?.
