Hi Les - that's spooky since I asked about that (was the answer...) earlier for Times Cryptic 995

Are you certain of the letters in the first one crutches?

It's just that "clement" was the answer to one of the clues I asked the forum about earlier today from Saturday Times cryptic No. 995...

Ah, sorry mate, I wasn't with you then at all.
I don't look at any of the Saturday Times threads until I've had a good go at the grids myself. I only picked up my paper late yesterday and got an hour at it late last night, then busy with other stuff today and the JE, so not been with the other stuff at all yet pal. And I notice this weekend has two Jumbos to get through.... EEK!

It's just if SNARL is correct for 18A & OPENHANDED is correct for 15A then it gives me those letters.
Is it possible that LENIENT is the answer for 21A. Still leaves me with out 14D.

Don't have the crossword crutches, so no idea if the others are right or wrong pal

Have it sorted. 18A is SCOWL. This now gives me the answer for 14D which is RECOVER.
Silly I should have seen this ages ago.
