First thanks to Chris, with "OSSA" I managed to finish 994.

Now 995; started fast, even with correct answers found some clues ambiguous - now bogged down at end;

17a Go round tree, seeing pattern of interlacing (7) T?A?E?Y

18a Author lives with crowd around court (9) I?H?????D

11d Agents keep working on variety of firms (9) C?N???T?A

36d Revolutionary dress looks short, but covers slip (11) R?S?S?I?R?E

and finally

44d Carbon and silicon, for example, though not lead, arte not heavy (7) C?E?E?T If CLEMENT - then why?

Perhaps another setter took over at the ladt minute....

Thanks in advance
