Baffled by these two:

27d: State stops savage Arab boy (6)
28d: Can anger upset Latin boy or girl? (6)

Either or both may lead to the answer plus an extra letter. Thanks to anyone who can help. I also have most of the unclued entries in this puzzle but haven't yet figured out a connection, any hints would be appreciated!

27Dn last 2 words are the definition (a name) 3 letter word for state included in three letter word for savage.
28Dn Another name. This is one of the clues where a letter is missing. A three letter synonym for "can" (not loo but cruder), missing its first letter, + three letter word for anger reversed + abbreviation for Latin.

The best lead-in to what the unclued words mean is an alternative spelling for the pairing of the 9 letter word in column 14, and the 6 letter word in row 11. Good luck!
