Suki/Mamya,
As I wrote the clue was from a cryptic crossword in a local crossword.
The answer was a word I hadn't come across before thanks Rossim. I kept thinking of (silly) goose but it didn't seem right.

Not sure what flight of fancy quiz is and as for the other clue it was not in my crossword but if it helps heather is often "ling" in cryptic crosswords.
