Where does the in the answer come from?
2. It could be Terry, the lady of the lake (5) ANS Ellen
3. Fleece, for one, for protection (7) ANS
Rampart
I'm completely stuck with those two...
4. English arriving in very pleasant Adriatic city (6) ANS Venice
How does the in the answer relate to "english arriving" (I suppose "English" means 'English name of Adriativ city').
