60 odd clues done, but I just don't see this one...
7d. Appointing as substitute in side, put in goal (8). D-P-T-N-.
The use of the gerund in appointing makes ING look good at the end, and the substitute bit makes deputy look promising, but I have never seen DEPUTING as a word, and the rest of the clue is irrelevent. Any thoughts?
