Got the theme but stuck on a couple of v long answer clues..any help please?

9d Sort of lite unsalted sausages (13)
2d. Undisciplined cosmetician led cause to confront western ideas (13)

Both are anagrams -I think the first one (the definition is 'sausages') needs another letter, the other one loses one.

For 6a I have STERNAL but not sure what the extra letter is? clue was Tail attached to almost half of bone

16a -my mum used to sing 'rockaby baby' to me with the answer instead of 'rockaby'. Think about a four letter for what you say to calm someone.

Sternal - within the ambit of the special instructions, AL is almost half. STERN completes it.

Can't remember the other off the top of head - sorry!
