No particular pleasure this morning --- but then I never was a real Paul fan.What do the rest of you think?
@ ChrisE: are ferns eatable, then? Or edible, if you prefer? Seems to me you've all left out the most important aspect. (GREEDY Kite).

Good morning, greedy kite - I'm just about to go for the paper.

The expert was served a dish of cooked ferns when on a ferning trip in China. She reports that she COULD eat them; they were a little like spinach, though the dish was highly spiced. (The fern was, apparently, a Diplazium.) The Americans eat the new heads of Ostrich fern - never tried that.

GK - I agree, not the best. I'm not happy about 19dn
Chef regularly cut herb with a French mark (7) - the "cut" isn't required (except to make a readable sentence)

Also (PEDANT WARNING) the answer to 13dn
Splattered on my coat is a muscle protein (10)
isn't "a" protein, but a complex of two different proteins
