Stuck on 5dn Quartet vying for contracts, top journalist reported (6)
I have ?E?S?D
Any suggestions?
Also 26 dn Neat and clean (4) P?R?
I've put in PURE, but don't see what it has to do with "neat" - any enlightenment (or correction)?

Just a question: is "to news" a relatively new usage? Never heard/seen it before, tho' it's in Ch.
And to Chris: no hard feelings about JE -- on the contrary I found your clue really imaginative, with a very nice "surface", as they say!I was way off course there!

Hi GK,
I realise that it contained a "ghost anagram", but I thought I might be able to get away with it as it was a "triple"
