I didn't win either! I won this Saturday Daily Record crossword competition twenty years ago in 1992 when the top prize was £100 with two (possibly three?) £25 runner up prizes. Six weeks after I won, they upped the ante to one single prize of £500.....Arggggh!!!

Hi drumbeat i was lucky about maybe 8 yrs ago then not long after that it seemed to change and get very difficult mind you it was maybe just me and my brain getting older ! Once i finish this weeks one and get it away will keep fingers crossed and live in hope.

Being cheeky and pick ur brain what could enlivened be with letters w??e and a flat round object letters d?s? I have put dish but after putting it on forum disc has been mentioned to and i arguing with myself which one to put aaargh driving me nuts as it my last two clues any thoughts aporeciated drumbeat.

I have 'WOKE' for 103d (Enlivened)and 'DISC' for 20d (Flat round object)it could be dish I suppose but I'd stick with disc! I sometimes think the Daily Record crossword compiler's head buttons up the back with some of the obscure clues they give!!

Thanks drumbeat i put that answers in , why is it you sometimes write them in and then go nah that not right then start doubting urself ! That maybe why these clues are there to test your sanity and i lost mine about 8pm tonight ! , well good luck again drumbeat and thanks for the help.
