I know digressing again from crosswords but we are looking for a 5 day trip - late August/early September - and I have heard York is lovely would you recommend it? Bath being another option. Thanks

Hi emrach,
We've just spent about 5 hours in York and there are numerous things that we would have done if we had had longer. I'm sure that you could fill 3 days, but then you might be casting about for other things to do - on the other hand, Bath you could do in a day!

But if you had transport, that would be no problem - Castle Howard, for instance, is well worth a visit.

(And Yorkshire is God's country, according to many)

I don't think you'll be disappointed, don't forget the Railway Museum. We're there at the end of August. Can't wait.
