After what's happened to Jazzgirl, my live mail (hotmail) account has started
sending spam emails out to my contacts - in Hungarian.

any advice?

Dump Hotmail. Always trouble there.
Try Gmail. You can easily import your contact list:

paul- I rarely even open mails from hotmail any more, having received viruses that way.

Well I never! Hotmail contacted me directly to report suspicious activity on my account, with the resetting process hopefully will be back to normal....

Paul, I've been using google mail for quite a long time on Syzygy's recommendation, and I've found it great - no problems at all (touch wood!)
