Have just bought 'Collins Little Book of Crosswords' online. The book is 238 pages, over 160 of which are just lists of words that may or may not be the answers to a clue! Why stop at 160 pages, why not 1160? Just get a dictionary, turn to page 1 and start typing.
I'm sorry to learn of your disappointing purchase but your message did make me laugh - as you said, why stop at that relatively small number of pages?
Well done, Andy, for offering a positive suggestion.
Yeah, I'll give that book a try. I also found one called 'Cryptic Crosswords and How To Solve Them' by Fred Piscop in a second hand store and it looks a much better read.
