do you have the decimal point in the right place?

£9 5s 6d approx.

Didn't the pounds stay the same. In which case we'd be left with the .127. 240d in the pound * .127 would be circa 30.5d for shillings divide by 12 = 2 with 6.5d remaining.

Therefore I'd say £8 2s 6.5d.

Probably wrong but that's my two penneth.
