"Off" is American slang for killing someone,see Chambers Dictionary, and also a cricket side, as opposed to "on". Start of season is the letter "s".
Slaughters=offs.

Thx guys but don't you think the compiler double "clued".
Slaughter American before start of season ( or any other word starting with s) would have done.
Or
Cricket side before start of Xeon would also have been perfectly acceptable.
Or
Am I,just being pedantic?

Have a good day. Sunny here in Scotland!
