Is anyone nearer than me? I have a full grid and the letters which make a word - can't spot the 4 items or see the unusual wordplay for the 4 entries.

Work diagonally in towards the centre from each of the 4 letters you have identified to find the 4 'items'. These relate directly to four grid entries whose clues are unorthodox in that the wordplay replaces the capital letter with the respective 'item'.

Thanks for the help - I did eventually realise what was going on - perhaps I should have posted to that effect - this weeks was more straightforward though I was on the right wavelenghth after The Listener.
