Thank you. As suspected, just a trifle non-mainstream.

Well, we've got the bottom half now! Top half looking very empty. What was your answer to my q. on 10a? And can we assume there are more hats/caps here, too?

10A is a direction. Look at the geographical placements.

Not as bad as I thought. Mainly weird anagrams & double / triple definitions, like 5D.

Thought it might be as simple as EAST.

Surely it IS "east", isn't it?

Yes.

Check your e-mails shortly. A little humour.

21a has got to be derby, but the plural can't be derbys!

Afraid so. That's what fits.

Not in Chambers, NA or Cdn. Oxfords, but Wiktionary has it.

Syzygy: in case you're still looking, I think we need a little help with the last 5, namely:
1,5 16 across; 4 & 11 down.
Some of the others we're not certain about, but we're surprised we even got this far. A weird kind of mentality somehow, esp. the lengthy clues for very short answers!

1A is in Chambers, one who bewitches (obs.)
Derived from the verb, to captivate or charm. Assume you have F??C???T?R.
Just noticed it's also headgear. 2D must be CBC, but I can't parse it.

5A ? Have C??F. Oh, another cap (CH). Think hairstyle.

The rest shortly.
