If you can find the tunnel from the blighter's heap of soil, pour down a mixture of meths and water (about 10-25% meths, about 300 ml) they go, for a while at least.Tried everything else, this works for me.

Rambler no doubt has a meth lab at home. Someone once suggested that I try playing disco music to scare them off, but they were soon back in full force, wearing little white suits.

Over here methylated spirits can be bought from DIY stores! Think you have to be over 18 but I supect rambler is......

Had a quick root around on the clue chain thread.

Comiserations rambler, sounds like a nightmare...much like those starry nosed things.

We don't seemed to be bothered with those types of beasties in this neck of the woods.

If you get really desperate try wielding a Japanese Razor Hoe around.

Not for the squeamish ...

eeeeeeewwwwww. I shouldn't think even their mothers find them beautiful.
Perhps that's why meths works - it smells disgusting to them so they do a smart about turn?

Jeyes Fluid
Mothballs
White spirit
Creosote
Bleach
Urine (fresh and mature)

The moles love all these.
I've flooded the runs with a hose.
A mate says he gassed his with an old bike inner tube/hosepipe connection but I'm afraid of blowing the car exhaust.
I've watched them at work and tried to stab them.
I have got one with a scissor trap a couple of years ago.
At the moment I've set a trap in a likely run....

What I need is a dinner-plate sized disc with about thirty closely-spaced tines; when I see activity I could place the 'killer' over the molehill and jump on it....
I do hope FRANCIS will not be too horrified.
