what phrase can be made from this dingbat?
P a n t e c h n i c o n

i have: long van/vehicle, stretched van/vehicle. wide van/vehicle, space vehicle, give the van a wide berth, but cannot find a definite solution

thanks for the suggestion, articulated lorry sounds reasonable, but is a pantechnicon a lorry or a van, maybe articulated vehicle

As youngsters we knew a pantechnicon to be an articulated lorry, and I must admit it is the best offering I have seen yet. I have doubts though, as 'articulated lorry' as an answer would make it a straight clue / definition rather than a dingbat. Bet it's something really obvious that we've all missed.

It might be to do with having spaces between the letters.
If you Articulate your speech you pronounce each word concisely and clearly (leaving spaces between words)
so here is a word for lorry (van, vehicle) that has been articulated.
