hi all, just downloaded g108. Looks like another tricky one by Brummie. Got a couple of "iffy" answers 17d, 26d. Any comments?

17D is a name, it's in the relevant Chambers appendix but not in the main body.

I wonder if your iffy answer for 26D is the same as mine dizoz...if it's what I think it is then all the unclued entries go after other words, which would make the instructions rather misleading.

The instructions say the unclued entries can go before or after the main clues.

I have 26D as following 23A, but I can't quite make the four-letter part fit the cryptic part of the clue.

I'm confident that 23ac follows 5dn.

I've got an answer for 26dn that makes sense, but it wouldn't be one of the "paired" answers. I can't see what 26ac goes with, and it's my only gap. Can anyone help?

I also have the 5D/23A combo peterm, I'm only left with the 26's and have an answer but the cluing for 26D is rather tortuous if I'm correct.

Thanks. I had 11A wrong.

I have 26A paired with 26D by default.

Thanks ixion. What I've got for 26dn is not tortuous, but I'm not 100% with it, simply because it leaves me with 26ac as the odd one out. Have you got an idea about 26ac?
