This is going to be a difficult clue to reproduce because layout frequently jumps between my writing it , and its appearing on the webpage, and also because it is from the irritating RTE Guide which does not distinguish between a crossword and a puzzle.

Starting top left, going clock-wise it gives the letters t o u r n a m e n . The answer is 5,5. It looks like Round Robin.
I haven't the faintest idea why.
