I think it's GRAITH as well....tools,apperatus or accoutrements for work! It's an old Scots word (possibly northern English as well?)used in the sense of...."A workman should always have his graith to hand before starting the job".

Chambers gives "graith" as apparatus or equipment. Looks good!
