I have no idea how the Guardian's crossword editor knew that I hadn't the time to look at the crossword yesterday, but obviously he did know, as he has very kindly repeated it for me today!

However the text of some of the clues is corrupted (at least on my display). I'll see what it looks like printed, but I might just have to do yeseterday's instead.

Now completed (I think), but can anyone please explain 24ac Duck or dick (9)?
I have GOLDENEYE. It's a duck, and it fits all the crossing letters, but what is the relevance of "dick"? (Am I missing something rude, perhaps?)

Hi sudokulover
There seems to be a detective agency called "Goldeneye". I've never seen the James Bond film; could this film be relevant?

Morning, Chris: Gascony calling! I think it's s'thing to do with Conan (s. Google) -- and "dick" is slang for a detective, of course (nothing rude this time).
And I learned from this one that Tel = Terry: never heard before! You live & learn!.P.S. We're in for 34° here today, and pouring rain tomorrow.

Thanks greedykite. We've moved tomorrow's barbie to today because of the forecast.
"Tel" for "Terry" is very London - Dennis Waterman's character in "Minder" was always referred to as "tel"
