Thanks Barrycat. I must admit I'd never heard of him. I checked Wikipedia's list of Polar Explorers but didn't see any that fitted the known words and letters that I had. On checking Wikipedia again however, I see Pen's name IS listed so I obviously missed it first time!
Anyway, that's me finished...off now for a beer or two or three...hic!! :o)
