Have done loads of clues but havent a clue about what the enigma bit means, can somebody please give me a clue. Thank you

I don't know if this will help or confuse even more but another solver posted this-

If you look in your completed grid for inhabitants of 9a your query should resolve itself.

I've solved all the clues except for 9a (which is unclued) and the letters I've got for that are KR-GE-. Maybe I've got some letters wrong but I don't know of any place with those letters.

A guess - Kruger?

You're right, Malone. Thank you. I didn't know Kruger was a place, just a person.

Kruger is the name of a nature reserve in South Africa.

Thank you all I had Kruger penciled in and wondered about animals. Can anybody tell be just how many acros clues add up to thephrase.
