Another one from last year, to fill in the gap until the June 2012 arrives.

Before printing, please check that the "Fit" button is clicked.

This one is a bit tougher than usual. Note #19.
The only obscure, & American, reference is #11.
So, to be fair, & give everyone a toehold:

Enjoy.
Remember? I promised you a buzz! (-;

Thanks, Syzzie. I've printed it and will fiddle around with it later. It does look more daunting than usual.

Hiya Syzzie,

This is a stickler, I raced away with the right hand side and have now finished the left and the bottom, but have hit a brick wall.
Clue 1, I have the word, but not sure which direction.
Stuck on 2,3,4,5,7,8,9,12,16,19,23.
NB. It mentions 19 having no 'B' but 23 has no 'B' either (is it a typo)

I am having trouble with 34, can't get part of the wordplay (passes at the tollbooth) but have the rest of it if the 5th letter is 'S' instead of the usual spelling with a 'Z'
This is holding me back from cracking the last letter in 36.
I've been using the process of elimination from 'ICONIC ATELIER POSE' to no avail I'm afraid.
I will stick at it with the middle going up to the north-west corner, but would appreciate a teeny weeny nudge for the last couple of letters joining 34,36.

Thanks, Les40

I forgot to add, i have a word for 22, which it says, is not in most dictionaries. I've checked a few and can't find it. Has anyone else seen it in any other dictionary yet, I have 5 of the letters and it can't really be anything else, but would like to see it in print somewhere before I put it in

Just been looking over it again whilst playing clue chain and now have got 1,5,8,9 & 12.
Got 4, but don't know which way it goes yet.

I've done it, but there are a couple where I'm not 100% on wordplay. I'm a bit lost now, Les, on what help you're looking for.

Cheers peterm,

I have been off-line and have now finished it apert from the centre letter in clue 2. I'm so frustrated because it's the first letter of the answer, i will get it, but don't need any help now with the rest of it, I got 36 and that has made sure of 34 (still can't fully understand the Tollbooth in this clue)
I realise now that 23 is not a typo, it just hasn't got a 'B' in it, but was an excellent clue.
19 is one that I should have guessed earlier (cheeky Mr Maltby).
What are you having question marks about peterm?

Like you, I wasn't clear about the wordplay for 34. I thought it might involve an Americanism unknown to me, and it does - EZPass is the tollbooth connection (found through Google).

I still can't see the wordplay for 3.

Otherwise, all good. 23 and 29 are my favourites.
