37d: American food outlet that is stocking duck wing (7,3)
The letters I have are - H - O - L - /P - E
(I think the second word might be PIE, but I've no idea about the first word.)

49d: Still popular, banker, after dispensing with capital (5)
I have I - E - T
It looks as though it ought to be INERT, but I'm not entirely sure why. Still = inert; popular = in, but how does the rest of it fit in?

All help appreciated please!

Thank you very much! :-)

I've never heard of Shoofly Pie! Please can you explain the breakdown?

Banker = cert, as in "something you can bank on"? That's also a new one for me!

Often a horse in a race is a "dead cert". Often it isnt!

That 'dead cert' might be oxymoronic...it's moribund state might preclude fast running.
