I've googled it - definitely a Glaswegian term of abuse.

It reminds me ... I tried watching "Inspector Montalbano" to revise my Italian, but as it is set in Sicily, it was rather like an Italian watching Rab C. Nesbitt (or Cracker) to revise his English.
