I too had wheft and was going to ask about the wordplay, so thanks. This Azed was certainly easier than usual; I do have one question, however. For 26d: Poet's line is blended with this old passage in pastourelle (5) I have ALURE, but I'm missing the wordplay. Bracing for demeaning enlightenment...
