just been reading the thread about the times posting do i add to a thread thats started or
start a new one there seems to be a division of proceedure. does this also apply to other crosswords as well ie guardian one thread indie/mephisto /listener or whichever one your doing all on there own thread?
please advise

It depends. join in, uless you don't fancy the company you would be keeping. in that case start a new one.

Thank you for being so conscientious. We wish others were.

For a few puzzles, like the Spectator & Guardian Genius, someone starts a thread & others "Reply" adding answers (preferably hints), & other questions.
That keeps it all in one place & avoids duplicate queries.

Unfortunately, the Times puzzles are a dog's breakfast & there can be dozens of threads titled differently, & for the same questions. Good luck sorting through that mess.

Perhaps they are just self-absorbed about their immediate problem & can't see the bigger picture.

All I can suggest is, go for a larger thread & stick to it.
