I last bought the Sunday Telegraph about 200 years ago (slight exaggeration!) but I was seduced into buying it again today to get "Caluccio's Perfect Italian Cooking".

The recipes seem very good but the last clue in their cryptic crossword has got me beaten.

1 Down Pretentious behaviour on flight, perhaps, and where it might end (8)

I have A-L-T-I-

Potential solutions will be welcomed so I can get on with my Perfect Italian Cooking.

Are you sure of the L?
Pretentious behaviour (airs) on filght perhaps (trip) gives airstrip - where it might land?

Well done AB!

The L came from 10 across for which the clue is "Offside, just (5)" which I now see is RIGHT and that makes AIRSTRIP correct.

Thanks a lot - now for the Perfect Italian Cooking.
