CLUELESS 56

It’s Clueless time again, which this week falls to me to set.

The idea is simply to compile a cryptic clue to a given answer. The winner of the previous week’s competition sets the answer to be clued and judges the entries. There is a one-day time-frame. The judge’s decision is final (reasons may be given at the judge’s discretion).

It is customary for the judge to donate a virtual prize to the winner.

To be fair to others, please do not make any comments on entries until after the winning entry has been declared.

Multiple entries may be submitted and new competitors are particularly welcome.

I am sure that many of the clever people who use this Forum already know that tomorrow will be the 82nd anniversary of a day when there was officially “no news”.

On 18th April 1930, the BBC’s 6.30pm news bulletin proclaimed: "Good evening. Today is Good Friday. There is no news." It was followed by piano music. In the eyes of the BBC, nothing worth reporting had happened that day.

To mark a unique event, this week’s Clueless answer is: NEWSWORTHY (10)

Clues to be submitted before 16:30 London time tomorrow (Wed 18th April) and the winner will be announced soon after.

I would prefer entrants NOT to give any explanation of their clue.

Good luck.
