WAY is style but sorry I can't parse the rest of the clue.

pen = STY; el = the letter L = LE (over. Thus STY + LE = way

I was referring to 20d. It's a coincidence that style turns up twice.

4D. AUNT is an old term for gossip.
j(AUNT)s = rambles (endlessly = no ends)
