Hi PS.

Not sure whether there's some wordplay in the 'tariff' clue that I'm not seeing. However ...

One meaning of 'tariff' is 'a governement tax on imported goods'. Right-wing governments just don't like taxes. Therefore a tariff is unlikely to exist in a right-wing government's economy.

Hi Roy.

If 'thrift' = economy
and 'th' = 'This is not provided'
then 'rift' would equate somehow to 'in the right'?

Ok !

'thrift' = economy

'th' = 'This is not'
'if' = 'provided'
'rt' = 'right'.
