A bit sheepish after how easy this morning's post was, but will go again. Any help with these would be welcome...
53a) One breaks tradition in wine region (5)E-I-E. It looks like elite, but I don't know why.
49d) As poet, I note short attention spans (5)H-I--. Haiku? If so, why? Or the name of a poet?
56a) King's favourite journalist died in ancient kingdom(7)G-Y---D. Gaylord?
As ever, I would be most grateful for pointers. Thank in advance.
