Between 4 and 6 in new maisonette if son's not in.

....I.E
I'm stuck on this one.I think it might be something to do with taking SON out of maiSONette but I'm not sure.

Glad to be able to help.

Although, a dodgy clue as everyone knows that teatime is really at half-past three and involves cucumber & butter sandwiches made with bread that has had its crust trimmed off.

The clue-setter must probably be from 'up norf'.

I've lived years north of Watford (mainly in Yorkshire & N-u-T), so have become slightly aware of the exotic tastes & meal times there.

Tea-time-wise, I've spent many an hour at one or other of the http://www.bettys.co.uk/">Betty's and can vouch for their fancies & teas (although I don't recall them ever serving cucumber sandwiches).
