Hi Danny,

Helena's responses have put a doubt in my mind so check Gatcombe as opposed to Burleigh. I am sorry that I got my numbers wrong - short-term memory loss - so the rower is Hugh Laurie [he has some pedigree as a rower - look at Wikipedia] and the missing sport is curling.

It's definitely a pushback in hockey now not a bully-off [sorry Helena!].

Regards,

Caravaggio

Hi Danny,

Before I sign off for now, it's Burghley not Burleigh and the house goes back to Elizabethan times.

Hope you win!

sorry for confusing everyone a bully off is when there is a stoppage of play and it is restarted with a bully off when the restart does not favour either team.

gatcombe park is the home of princess anne and they hold a 3day event there, but it may not be classed as a stately home, but i couldn't come up with another venue which held equestrian events, burghley is a far better answer.
