just downloaded 105. got 1 so far. Will keep going - maintaining "dis"pairing effort. 2 of 17 pairs appear to have same number of letters. HMMMM!

I agree 2 have the same numbers in the solutions.

Where is everyone there are usually really early comments from people on here?

If it helps, the 2 "specials" with the same number of letters are 22dn and 23dn.

I've got most of it finished, just a couple in NE and SW. A couple of clues I'm not happy about: eg in 5d one letter isn't clued. I don't think I've made a mistake with it, as its partner fits in its place. I find the same in 14ac - but of course, it could that I'm missing something

In 5dn, if you interpret "we've" as "our nation's", I think it works. In 14ac, the last 3 letters are those of a political party, so again, I think it works.

Can't quite figure out 17d, which is my last "normal" clue. For 20d, I have one half of an old US comedy team but, unfortunately, this does not intersect favorably with the habitual partner for the answer I've deduced for 24a (a food pairing). I'm still in the dark on 8d, 22d and 10a as well.
