Hi Julie,

Do you have any letters or number of words for dark croaker? The only British bird that might fit (not confident) would be BLUE THROAT. Blue is dark and sometimes the throat is refered to as a croaker but it's a guess I'm afriad. I'd wait until someone else comes up with something stronger.

Another thought. BLACK GROUSE

Dark = Black

To croak is to mutter discontentedly; grumble or grouse.
